Can I delete my files after sharing?

Yes. You can delete your files at any time from the management page. No account needed. Files are also auto-deleted after 3 days on the free tier.

Every upload on EasySend generates a unique management URL that gives you full control over your files. From this page you can delete individual files or the entire bundle at any time, without needing an account or logging in.

How to Delete Files

  1. Go to your management page. The URL was saved in your browser automatically when you uploaded. You can also find it in your browser history or bookmarks.
  2. Click the delete button next to any file to remove it individually, or delete the entire bundle at once.
  3. Confirm the deletion. Once confirmed, the file is permanently removed from storage within seconds.

Permanent Deletion

When you delete a file on EasySend, it is permanently erased from storage. There is no recycle bin, no undo option and no backup copy retained by the service. The file data is removed from the storage infrastructure and cannot be recovered by anyone, including EasySend.

Automatic Deletion

If you do not manually delete your files, the free tier automatically removes them after 3 days (72 hours). This automatic expiry is a deliberate privacy feature. Files do not sit on servers indefinitely collecting dust and creating potential security exposure.

Paid plans have different retention periods:

What About the Share Link?

After you delete files, anyone who tries to use the share link will see a message indicating that the files are no longer available. The link does not redirect or show an error page. It simply shows that the content has been removed.

Deleting Encrypted Files

If you uploaded files with end-to-end encryption, deletion works the same way. The encrypted data is permanently removed from storage. Since the encryption key only existed in your browser, the data was already inaccessible to the server. Deletion removes the encrypted ciphertext entirely.
