Is EasySend really free?
EasySend is genuinely free for the core file sharing experience. You can upload files up to 1GB, get a shareable link and let anyone download your files for 3 days. There is no account required, no credit card needed and no ads on the upload or download pages.
What You Get for Free
- 1GB per file with no limit on the number of uploads
- Multiple files per bundle shared with one link
- 3-day availability with automatic deletion after expiry
- Password protection for access control
- End-to-end encryption using AES-256-GCM
- Download notifications via email
- QR codes for easy mobile sharing
- File previews for images and video
- ZIP downloads for multi-file bundles
- Full API access with no authentication required
What Is the Catch?
There is no catch. EasySend does not serve ads, does not sell user data and does not gate features behind mandatory signups. The free tier is sustainable because optional paid upgrades fund the service. Most users never need to pay anything.
Paid Options (All Optional)
If you need more than the free tier offers, there are three upgrade options:
- 30-day extension ($0.99) keeps a single upload available for 30 days instead of 3.
- Lifetime storage ($4.99) gives you 1GB of permanent storage with no recurring fees.
- Premium ($1.99/month) unlocks 10GB file uploads, permanent storage for all uploads, custom vanity URLs and download analytics.
All payments are processed through Stripe. No account is created during the payment process.
How Does Free Compare to Competitors?
Most file sharing services either serve ads on free tiers or limit functionality to push paid conversions. WeTransfer shows ads on the free upload page. Google Drive requires a Google account. Dropbox limits free storage to 2GB total. EasySend has no ads, no account requirement and no total storage limit on the free tier.
Free API Access
The EasySend API is also completely free with no API key required. Developers can integrate file sharing into their applications with a single HTTP request. There are no rate limits that would prevent normal usage and no premium API tiers.
