Why No-Signup Matters

Every time a service asks you to create an account you are handing over personal information that will be stored on someone else's servers indefinitely. Your email address becomes a target for marketing campaigns, data breaches and spam. Your password becomes another credential to manage and another potential entry point for attackers. We decided early on that basic file sharing should not require any of that.

When we built EasySend we asked a simple question: what is the minimum amount of information needed to transfer a file from one person to another? The answer is none. The file goes up, a link comes out and anyone with that link can download it. No accounts, no profiles, no contact lists. Just the file.

Speed and Convenience

Beyond privacy there is a practical argument for skipping signups. Creating an account takes time. You need to think of a username, create a password, enter your email, open a confirmation email, click a verification link and then finally get back to the task you were trying to do in the first place. With EasySend you skip all of that. The entire process from opening the site to having a shareable link takes under 10 seconds. That is not a marketing claim - it is what actually happens when you visit the homepage and drop a file.

This matters most in time-sensitive situations. If a client needs a file right now or a colleague is waiting on a deliverable, spending two minutes creating an account on some service is wasted time. EasySend gets out of your way so you can focus on the work itself.

How It Works Without an Account

You might wonder how we manage file sharing without user accounts. The mechanics are straightforward. When you upload a file we generate a unique encrypted identifier for that transfer. This identifier becomes part of the download URL. Anyone who has the URL can access the file. When the link expires (48 hours on the free plan) the file and its identifier are permanently deleted.

We do not tie uploads to user profiles because there are no user profiles. Each upload is an independent event. This also means we cannot show you a history of your past uploads on the free plan - that is a tradeoff we accept in exchange for not collecting your data. If upload history is important to you, our paid plans offer an optional account system where you can log in to manage your transfers.

What Data We Collect

We believe in being transparent about what happens behind the scenes. Here is what we do and do not collect when you use EasySend without an account.

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, location data, browsing history or any form of personal identifier. We do not use tracking cookies and we do not share data with third-party advertisers.

We do collect basic server logs that include your IP address, the time of the upload and the file size. These logs are necessary for abuse prevention and rate limiting. They are automatically purged after 7 days and are never used for marketing or sold to third parties. We also store the file itself on encrypted storage until the link expires at which point it is permanently deleted.

Freelancers sending deliverables to clients, teachers distributing materials to students, developers sharing builds with testers - the use cases are broad. It is also great for sharing personal files like photos from an event where you do not want to force your friends and family to create accounts on yet another platform.
